In the World, Not of It

Do not love the world

If you want to stay clean, even when you're walking alone in the dark, low-ceilinged coal mine of the corrupt and secular culture, you need to remember a few practical things---four come to mind.

Pay close attention to what you look at. . . . Our eyes seem to be the closest connection to our minds.

Give greater thought to the consequences of sin than to its pleasures. . . . Nobody ever mentions the ugly underside of pleasurable sins.

Begin each day by renewing your sense of reverence for God. Start each new day by talking to the Lord, even if that early morning talk has to be brief.

Periodically during each day focus fully on Christ. . . . Imagine Him as He is thinking about you, praying for you, standing with you, living in you.

Be in the world but not of it.
